Confusion : Protesters Block Bridge, Insist On Abubakarā€™s Son As Guber Candidate

PROTESTERS believed to be members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), yesterday afternoon, caused a major gridlock when they blocked the busy Itobe Bridge in Ajaokuta, Kogi State, insisting on having late Abubakar Auduā€™s son, Mohammed, as APC guber candidate in the stateā€™s supplementary election.

The protesters, numbering over 300, blocked the road with logs, tyres and cars, a situation that resulted in a total standstill.

Itobe Bridge links the South East, South-South, part of South West, and part of the Middle Belt with the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja).

The protesters, who held placards with different inscriptions, said they blocked the bridge to protest the decision of the leadership of the APC to substitute the late APC gubernatorial flag-bearer, Prince Abubakar Audu, with the second place winner of the partyā€™s primaries, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
