Wow! FIFA is seeking life ban against Platini – lawyer

FIFA’s ethics watchdog wants Michel Platini banned for life over a suspect payment, the European football chief’s lawyer told AFP on Tuesday.

The FIFA vice president is already serving a 90-day suspension while an investigation is held into a $2 million sum he received from FIFA president Sepp Blatter who is also suspended.

Platini’s lawyer Thibaud d’Ales revealed the FIFA’s life ban demand which he described as a “scandal” and “excessive”.

“This ban is subject to the proof of corruption, but the punishment is clearly excessive,” D’Ales said.

“It’s not based on anything in the case.”

Blatter’s representatives refused to comment on whether the same request has been made against the Swiss official.

FIFA’s investigatory chamber announced Monday that it has opened a case against Blatter and Platini and that it was aiming to announce a decision next month.

Until then Platini, the president of UEFA, is forbidden to take part in the race to become Blatter’s successor as president of FIFA.

He is one of five official candidates to run football’s scandal-hit ruling body with the election scheduled for February 26.

Doctors have diagnosed an eight-year-old girl with a rare form of breast cancer – one of the youngest cases of the disease ever recorded.

Chrissy Turner recently told her parents she had noticed a lump on her chest. Her concerned parents took her to her doctor, who after a series of tests confirmed she had secretory carcinoma.

The schoolgirl, from Utah, will now have to undergo gruelling treatment, including a mastectomy.

After her diagnosis, Chrissy’s mum, Annette said: “Only one in one million are diagnosed and she is the youngest that they’ve run across having this particular type of breast cancer.

“I broke down. It’s a struggle every day worrying about my family, about my husband and now my baby girl.”

Both Chrissy’s parents have had their own battles against cancer .

Annette was once diagnosed with cervical cancer while her dad, Troy, is currently battling Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma .

Speaking of her condition, the brave youngster said: “I was scared the first time that I knew about it, but I knew, I knew that I could fight it off and I hope that I can fight it off.”

Chrissy is now set to undergo surgery at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Utah. Friends of the family have started a Go Fund Me campaign to raise money for medical bills.

Ewo! Wife takes revenge on her cheating husband by selling house while he’s away on business trip

Builder Craig Arnolds returned from New York to find six students in his lounge after being rumbled by his wife

A cheating husband was taught an extremely valuable lesson – after returning from a business trip to find his wife had sold their house.

Builder Craig Arnolds returned home from New York to find the locks changed – and six students in his lounge.

Wife Laura, aged 42, had packed her bags and gone.

She took the extreme measure after discovering an incriminating message on her partner’s iPhone.

She was able to sell the Nuneaton property behind Craig’s back because her parents had taken over the mortgage after the pair ran into financial difficulties.

The place was flogged within a fortnight through a website and occupied by students from the University of Warwick.

Laura told The Sunday Mercury : “Things aren’t great between us at the moment.

FIFA court opens case against Blatter, Platini, decision in December

The judgement arm of FIFA’s ethics committee on Monday opened a case against the body’s suspended president Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini, with a verdict in the corruption allegations surrounding both men due next month.

The panel of judges, known as the adjudicatory chamber, received the final report from the ethics committee’s investigative branch on Saturday, which called for sanctions to be levelled against both men.

A guilty verdict would almost certainly crush UEFA president Platini’s hopes of succeeding Blatter at the top of world football’s governing body.

The investigative branch did not disclose the severity of the recommended sanctions, or the evidence collected, but both Blatter and Platini have been implicated in possible criminal conduct in a separate case launched by Swiss prosecutors.

In a statement, the adjudicatory chamber said it had “opened formal adjudicatory proceedings against Joseph S. Blatter and Michel Platini based on the final reports submitted by the investigatory chamber.”

The chamber “intends to come to a decision in both cases during the month of December”, the statement further said.
