Nigerian Navy arrests vessel with 400-tanker load of stolen crude in Warri
In what it described as one of its biggest breaks in its fight against oil theft, the Nigerian Navy has arrested a motor transport vessel (MTV) laden with about 4,000 metric tons of substances suspected to be stolen crude oil.
While parading the massive marine vehicle, measuring about 105.6 metres in length, and the eleven crew members yesterday in Warri, the Flag Officer Commanding the Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Apochi Suleiman and the Command of the NNS Delta, Commodore Raimi Mohammed, said the Navy will not stop in its campaign against maritime crimes until the criminals are all routed.
Addressing journalists aboard the arrested vessel, named MT Camille, Rear Admiral Suleiman expressed concern over the quantity of Nigeria’s crude already siphoned by the vessel, putting the estimation at about 400 trailer tanker loads of crude.
Guinea’s last Ebola case, a baby girl, leaves hospital
A one-month-old baby girl who was Guinea’s last reported Ebola case left hospital on Saturday, delighting medical staff and putting the country on course to be declared free of the deadly virus.
Guinea will become officially Ebola-free after 42 days if no new cases are reported following the recovery of baby Nubia — thought to be the first baby to survive after being born to an infected mother.
An Ebola outbreak has killed about 11,300 people mainly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone since it began two years ago. Liberia is now the only country with confirmed cases after the virus re-emerged for a third time.
“This is a very happy day for us,” Laurence Sailly, head of medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres'(MSF) emergency team in Guinea, told Reuters on Saturday. “It was very moving for us and the family to be able to touch her without gloves.”

Unresolved weirdness – Mysterious ghost fleet containing 20 dead sailors washes up in Japan
JAPAN is investigating nearly a dozen ‘ghost ships’ recently found drifting off the country’s coastline, some with decaying bodies aboard, officials said on Friday.
At least 11 cases involving wooden boats — some badly damaged — with 20 bodies on board have been reported during October and November, a coastguard spokesman said.
Many of the boats have been towed to Japanese ports, but the bodies are yet to be identified, he said, adding that investigations were ongoing.
On Tuesday, one of the boats was pulled ashore at Fukui port after three sets of remains were found inside when coastguard personnel spotted it some 100 kilometres offshore in the Sea of Japan, private TV channel Tokyo Broadcasting System reported. TBS said the remains were badly decomposed and partially skeletonised.

A pretty Colombian woman has been accused of using her charms to get past security guards and carry out 300 raids.
Andrea Torres, 28, was arrested after allegedly seducing doormen to gain access to secure apartment blocks using her striking looks, police claim.
On other occasions, she would manage to persuade people that she was the girlfriend of the apartment owner and had forgotten her key, or she would simply pick the locks, it is alleged.
Once inside she would then arrange for a female friend to join her and sometimes a male accomplice, and they would then rob the place before making off with the loot, officers believe.
Cleric claims there’s a Powerful Demon Inhabiting Enugu Governor’s Lodge
Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province of the Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuma yesterday in Agbani, Enugu State alluded to the possibility of a powerful demon dwelling at the Enugu State government lodge.

The annual Miss Criminal 2015 beauty pageant was held at the Talavera Bruce women’s prison in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This year’s winner was Michelle Neri Rangel, 27.
She has been behind bars since 2010, when she was sentenced to 39 years for robbery – with an additional six years added on for prostitution inside the prison.
The jail, inside the sprawling Bangu penitentiary centre, is Brazil’s only maximum security prison for women and holds the country’s most serious female offenders.
